Laravel Backend Developer

Own backend features from database design through deployment. Work with frontend developers and designers to deliver secure, maintainable web applications, with an emphasis on reliable integrations and clear documentation.

• Develop REST APIs, business workflows, and background jobs using Laravel and PHP.
• Design MySQL schemas, write migrations, and investigate slow queries.
• Integrate payment, email, and other third-party services with appropriate error handling.
• Write feature tests for critical customer journeys and review pull requests.
• Maintain authentication, authorization, validation, and secure handling of customer data.
• Document API contracts, support releases, and investigate production issues.

• At least 2 years of practical PHP and Laravel development experience.
• Working knowledge of MySQL, Eloquent, queues, caching, and REST API design.
• Experience with Git, automated testing, and debugging web applications.
• Understanding of application security, role-based access, and validation.
• OND, HND, or degree in a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable development experience.

• Experience with payment gateways used in Nigeria, such as Paystack or Flutterwave.
• Familiarity with Linux hosting, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or cloud deployment.
• Experience maintaining integrations with external business systems.
